Volunteers are needed for all three stations. Duties will include looking after the station, welcoming visitors, ensuring passengers board and disembark safely, selling tickets and shop goods. At Aviemore you may carry out only some of these duties. At Boat of Garten and Broomhill you will, eventually, be in full charge. Training will be provided, of course. The extent of your commitment will be up to you. You may choose to come on a particular day (or days) each week, or can come on odd days when you are available.

You can volunteer on the Strathspey Steam Railway
The railway has a healthy membership of volunteers, but we are always looking for more. We are always looking for volunteers with skills from all walks of life. Don’t worry if you think you wont be able to assist. Volunteering can take many  different forms, and we have had electricians, joiners, upholsterers, lawyers, cooks, plumbers and painters…. the list goes on and on. And we have plenty of jobs that can fit in with all interests and capabilities.

You can also work with people in many other departments that utilize other knowledge and skills. As you can see from the list below there is wide range of roles to be undertaken, why not get in touch with your local heritage railway to see how you could help.
